About Me
Introduction
Hi, I'm Hanbin Tan (小寒冰), a software engineer with AWS Certified Developer – Associate and Cloud Practitioner certifications. I'm completing a B.S. in Computer Science and Engineering at UC San Diego (expected June 2026) and entering Georgia Tech's OMSCS program in Fall 2026. I focus on cloud platforms, data systems, multi-agent workflows, and ML-enabled software that turns research-heavy ideas into working prototypes and production-shaped tools.
Based in California, I'm drawn to hard engineering problems where cloud infrastructure, Linux systems, APIs, data pipelines, containerized services, and AI models need to work together. I care about understanding the full stack deeply enough to debug constraints, evaluate behavior, and optimize the system instead of stopping at a surface-level demo.
I love new technology, learn unfamiliar tools quickly, work persistently, and care about becoming the kind of engineer who can contribute in high-trust environments. Outside of engineering, I enjoy traveling, exploring emerging technologies, mentoring students, and staying active.
Education
Georgia Institute of Technology (OMSCS)
M.S. Computer Science (Incoming)

Engineering Focus
Cloud Platforms & DevOps
Building AWS serverless systems, containerized services, and deployment workflows with Docker, Kubernetes, Linux, and CI/CD practices.
Data Platforms & APIs
Designing data ingestion pipelines, relational data models, REST APIs, and backend services for analytics and workflow automation.
Multi-Agent & AI Systems
Building agentic workflows with retrieval, memory, tool use, evaluation, and human review gates so model output can be inspected before it changes important state.
Full-Stack Microservices
Shipping React, Next.js, TypeScript, .NET, PostgreSQL, and middleware features that connect interfaces to reliable backend behavior.
Deep Technical Learning
Learning unfamiliar technologies quickly, reading into the constraints, testing tradeoffs, and turning experiments into documented, optimized engineering work.
